TASTING:

The fresh dress opens with a subtle nose of vine flowers, a sappy bouquet, a graphite note. The palate has a very nice freshness with a saline side, a great length, density, a gray pepper finish, a perfect illustration of the unique terroir of Mas Amiel. A great gray Grenache is revealed in synergy with the schist.

PERFECT AGREEMENTS:

An ally of fish or vegetable terrines, river fish or even pear tarts.

PLOTS, TERROIR, CULTURE:

Unique plot on a hillside of calcoschists (Las Fredes sector) with an acidic pH, the soils are very light, with significant stoniness (50 to 80), very filtering, they behave like sand. Presence of clays with a significant surface area in depth. South-west exposure. A true indicator of terroir for Grenache grey
Old vine, trained in goblet form, over 70 years old, cultivated 100% biodynamically.
Soil maintenance by crawler plowing and use of biodynamic preparations. The average yield is 20 hl/ha with planting densities of 4000 vines/ha for these old Grenache grey, white and Maccabeu vines.

GRAPE VARIETIES:

Old vine over 70 years old planted with mixed grape varieties: Grenache white and gray, Macabeu.

GRAPE HARVEST:

Manual, conservation of grapes in cold room for sorting of bunches on table. Direct pressing and very light settling.

VINIFICATION:

Casking of 40% of the volume which is vinified in concrete demi-muids and concrete eggs, 60% in stainless steel cuve.
